The Naira rate now at Naira575 to 1Dollar


The dollar rose to between N572 and N575 in different parts of the country on Monday barely two days after online platform, Aboki FX, stopped providing updates on the exchange rate.

Our correspondent, who visited the ever-busy Wuse Zone 4 which is the hub of bureau de change operators in Abuja, observed that the dollar was sold for N574 as opposed to the N570 it was sold for on Friday.

In Lagos, the dollar was sold at N572 while in Kano it was N575 as of 3pm on Monday.

The pound was sold for N780 as opposed to N770 last Friday.

YouTube deletes R.kelly's channels

YouTube has removed two channels of disgraced R&B singer R. Kelly, who was found guilty of some sex crimes last week. YouTube said in statement that two of the singer's channels, RKellyTV and RKellyVevo, have been removed and he will no longer be able to create or own any other YouTube channel. Catalog of his music will however be available on YouTube Music, YouTube’s audio-streaming service, and the videos uploaded by other YouTube users will continue to be available. A YouTube spokesperson told Reuters in a statement; “We can confirm that we have terminated two channels linked to R. Kelly in accordance with our creator responsibility guidelines." YouTube VP of legal, Nicole Alston also wrote in a memo; “Egregious actions committed by R. This was during his victory speech after he ended Anthony Joshua’s reign as world boxing heavyweight champion early Sunday morning. Usyk said, “This means a lot for me.
